When Molly’s son, Nick Ambrose, enlisted in the Marine Corps in 2015, she joined the ranks of military moms experiencing the inevitable roller-coaster of emotions that come with being the parent of an enlisted service member. Her deep connection to her son also gave her first-hand perspective of how to support her son and others deployed from afar. A year later, Molly began sending care packages to deployed military personnel, gathering donations from family and friends to support her efforts. By 2017, she expanded her mission to include adopting local military families in need, and in 2018, she extended her support to Minnesota Veteran Homes. In 2019, Molly took another step forward by supporting the Armed Forces Service Center at Minneapolis International Airport. That same year, her son Nick became a veteran and encouraged her to elevate her work in assisting military personnel.
In 2020, Molly officially founded Semper Fi Flo as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and established a board of directors. Since then, Semper Fi Flo has made a remarkable impact—shipping over 7,0500 care packages worldwide as of April 2025, supporting 128 military families, and aiding seven Veteran Homes in Minnesota.
Our mission is to provide care packages for military personnel deploying overseas, stationed at key military installations, and actively serving around the world.
Throughout the year, we gather essential amenities that are not readily available to Soldiers, Marines, Airmen, and Sailors during deployment. We coordinate pickup and shipment to ensure these items reach various duty stations where they are needed most.
We adopt veteran homes and military families who may need support primarily during the holidays, though our assistance extends beyond the season.
Through our relationships with Local Veterans Service Officers, we identify families and veterans who live in our local communities to ensure ensure everyone can experience the joy of the holiday season.
No one should face the fight alone. Serving in the military requires immense sacrifice as well as bravery.
Regardless of where you are in your career, there are numerous resources available to support both active and retired military personnel, along with their families.
Do you know of a need or would like to help? Flo would love to know.
