Semper Fi Flo BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Molly Ambrose, Board Chair, Executive Director

Molly Ambrose is the visionary founder of Semper Fi Flo, a nonprofit born from personal experience and a deep commitment to supporting military personnel and their families. Her journey began in 2015 when her son, Nick Ambrose, enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps. As a military mom, Molly quickly became attuned to the emotional and logistical challenges faced by service members and their loved ones.

What started as a grassroots effort to ship care packages overseas and rallying  support from family and friends soon evolved into a broader mission. By 2017, Molly was adopting local military families in need, and by 2018, she had extended her outreach to Minnesota Veteran Homes. In 2019, she began supporting the Armed Forces Service Center at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, further expanding her impact.

Encouraged by her son, now a veteran, Molly formally established Semper Fi Flo as a Sec. 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2020. Under her leadership, the organization has shipped over 6,500 care packages worldwide, supported 128 military families, and partnered with seven Veteran Homes across Minnesota. Molly’s unwavering dedication, compassionate leadership, and hands-on approach continue to inspire a growing community of supporters and volunteers.

Holly Straub, MBT, CFP®, EA, Board Treasurer, Controller

With more than two decades of experience in financial services, Holly brings deep expertise in nonprofit accounting, regulatory compliance at both state and federal levels, and risk management. Her guidance helps mission-driven organizations confidently navigate the complexities of financial oversight and long-term sustainability.

Holly earned a Master of Business Taxation from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Management, further solidifying her knowledge in tax law and financial accounting. Her career also encompasses leadership in operations and information technology, ensuring seamless business processes and technological advancements that drive efficiency.

Although Holly is a civilian, her lifelong friendship with Molly, that began in third grade, has inspired a deep commitment to supporting not only Molly as a military mom, but Molly’s mission to support the broader local military community. With a strategic mindset and strong financial expertise, Holly is devoted to making a lasting difference in the lives of service members and their families by helping strengthen the financial health of Semper Fi Flo.

She has contributed her talents across the IT channel and EMS industries while deepening her knowledge in holistic wellness practices.

In 2019, Tracy launched Calming Waters Wellness, a small business dedicated to alternative healing methods and creating a calming space for personal restoration. The center was born from a deeply personal mission inspired by her late father—a Vietnam veteran who struggled with PTSD, vaccine injury, and alcoholism. His passing fueled Tracy’s commitment to helping other Veterans access the support and tools they need to heal. Calming Waters offers a safe, empowering environment where Veterans can reclaim their lives through holistic care.

A steadfast supporter of Semper Fi Flo since its inception, Tracy joined the board in 2024. She contributes her strengths in business operations, project management, event planning, and fundraising to help advance the organization’s mission and foster resilience within the Veteran community.
